TiE SoCal Final Event of 2009

November 18th, 2009
TiE Socal Final Event of 2009: Presenting the Business Leader of the Year Award to Neel Grover (CEO, Buy.com)
President Sumita Batra of Ziba Beauty along with the new president in 2010 Navneet Chugh presented Neel Grover, President and CEO of Buy.com the Business Leader of the Year Award.

Neel Grover is President and CEO of Buy.com Inc, a leading e-commerce company with more than 12 million customers and $4.5 Billion in sales since inception. Buy.com currently competes with a broad range of retailers and e-commerce marketplaces such as Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, eBay and Wal-Mart.

In his presentation, Neel Grover presented quite a few interesting tidbits about Buy.com such as an upcoming new feature on the web site where you can shop along with your friends and instant message eachother at the same time. And if commercials are your thing, you might have noticed the funny man and Deal or No Deal's host Howie Mandel is the face of Buy.com. His commericals for Buy.com were hillarious and especially the viral video of raw footage from one of the commercials where he gives some guy off the street an XBOX.

One of the speakers who also had a table at the hotel lobby was Liz Hardy, a senior associate of World Financial Group, Inc. (WFG) is a financial services marketing company whose affiliates offer life insurance and a broad array of financial products and services. There was another table for a Marrow Donor Registry Drive as well.

For those into fashion and beauty, the wonderful gift bag from Ziba included a Brow Essentials Tool Kit complete with mirror, brush, tweezers and scissors courtesy of Sumita Beauty. A new line of beauty products that represent the perfect fusion of traditional beauty and modern technology.
