Dozens of Fashion Island stores will host in-store fashion and beauty events, giveaways, sweet treats, DJs and more from 5 to 9 pm.* Friday, Sept. 7: Retrospective Fashion Show and Riviera Magazine Anniversary Party at Fashion Island – Fashion Island will celebrate 45 years of fashion prominence in Southern California with a runway show highlighting looks from exclusive stores including C. Wonder, Joie, Ella Moss and more in the Neiman Marcus-Bloomingdale’s Courtyard at 7 pm.
* Saturday, Sept. 8: Designer Nick Verreos hosts Spectrum Collection & Cadillac: Contemporary Design at Irvine Spectrum Center - Spectrum Collection is a 7 pm runway show spotlighting a variety of retailers at Irvine Spectrum Center, complete with a traditional bridal look for the finale from Demetrios Bride. Spectrum Collection will be preceded by Cadillac: Contemporary Design, with FIDM graduate designers competing with original looks using denim and Cadillac car parts.

Presentation recognizing outstanding volunteers, including 2012 Volunteer of the Year Dennis Boyer. Boyer led the search for the museum’s new Executive Director Malcolm Warner and Deputy Director Ed Fosmire in 2011-2012.
Light refreshments and small bites which were gone almost as soon as they were served.
Opportunity to view the museum’s current exhibitions Clarence Hinkle, Modern Spirit and the Group of Eight, and ex·pose: peter bo rappmund. Working mainly in film, video, photography, and sound, Peter showed several photographs, along with three films: Psychohydrography, Vulgar Fractions and Tectonics. The Big Photo Show’s Seriously Fun Photography Photo Challenge
The Big Photo Show just launched its first national photo contest. It’s “The Big Photo Show’s Seriously Fun Photography Photo Challenge” and they’re seeking entries from photo enthusiasts at all levels from across the US. The contest’s open to anyone 18 and older who love taking pics.
Entries are being accepted online now through April 5, 2013. Online voting for the “people’s choice” winners will take place March 25-April 8, and judging by a panel of three professional photographers will take place in early April. Winners will be announced April 9, 2013. All winning entries, along with many other top submissions, will be on display at The Big Photo Show.
Grand Prize is a free trip for two to Los Angeles to attend The Big Photo Show on May 4-5, 2013, and a SamsungNX20 camera. Fashion Week San Diego

Port of San Diego in Downtown San Diego, CAFashion Week San Diego 2013 will kick off with private events for Sponsors and Designers at Roppongi Restaurant & Sushi Bar in La Jolla on September 30th and October 1st. The rest of the nights will be held in the Broadway Pier, FWSD will be taking it over for five days. Wednesday is the Art & Beauty behind Fashion and marks the beginning of events open to ticket holders. Followed by three nights of Runway Shows October 3rd-5th. The week will end with the Trunk Show on October 6th.
Fashion Week San Diego was formed to showcase emerging designers and their works by being a launching pad for their careers. Highlighting the fashion & beauty industry and the community of San Diego is a key goal of Fashion Week San Diego.
